To impart comprehensive knowledge that enables the students to become innovative and successful entrepreneur to learn the advanced fields of mechanical engineering that meets the recent industrial demands and social needs.
To provide quality education to the students which will enhance their skills and ability to create, innovate and design system based on new technologies to the society.
To foster logical thinking among the students to design system required real-life situation.
To equip the students through the state-of-art learning environment that can provide academic environment of excellence, entrepreneurship and moral guidelines with lifelong learning.
1. PEO1 : Prepare students to be marketable mechanical engineer and also to pursue higher studies.
2. PEO2 : Strengthening the foundation of analytical and scientific thinking to handle technical challenges of the country.
3. PEO3 : Encourage students to design innovative products/solutions independently for technical requirements.
4. PEO4 : Inculcate professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, team spirit, work abilities and multidisciplinary approach to amend technical barriers of nation.
5. PEO5 : Create an academic environment for research and development to lead a successful professional career.
The undergraduate mechanical engineering curriculum incorporates educational knowledge and experience in design, mathematics, modelling, computing, management, and engineering science. The principal study topics include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics & heat transfer, solid mechanics, materials engineering, manufacturing, energy systems, dynamics & control, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and others.
The Mechanical department conducts national and international conferences, Faculty Development Programs (FDP), Guest Lectures, Workshops, Industrial visits and value added courses to enhance the students’ technical skills and to update their knowledge in modern developments in engineering and technology.
Mechanical Engineers have a broad spectrum of opportunities in core and allied engineering industries like Energy, Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Steel, Automotive, Robotics and Information Technologies etc. Job opportunities in both private and Government sector which include railways, armed forces, civil aviation, manufacturing industries as well as it industries provide numerous options for our graduates.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been consistently providing creative, innovation – driven learning environment, mentorship, and tools necessary for building a strong foundation for excelling in the core engineering field. Here, traditional mechanical engineering knowledge is synthesized with hands-on fundamental knowledge driven activities and applied in a holistic fashion to create future leaders. At present the department offers undergraduate in mechanical engineering and postgraduate in Industrial Engineering Management. The department has laboratory and workshop facilities with modern sophisticated equipment to carry out research and innovative projects.
The department has to its credit corporate training programs, industrial training and consultancy that benefit students in the form of good placements, well-equipped laboratories and industrial exposure. The faculty members undergo industrial training through FDP to update their knowledge in current industrial technologies and to keep pace with fast-changing industrial needs.
MoUs are signed with industries for research, training programs and other skills development for both faculty and students like Thermax Limited Pune, etc.
Our students are motivated to participate in various national competitions through student clubs and teams and have won many awards.
Benefit to society: This machine can enhance productivity and accuracy by automating and expediting the filling and packaging process for small scale industries under the Make in India Scheme.

Benefit to society: This economical and portable automatic colour mixing plant with minor adaptations and customisation promises to impact many industrial sectors.

Benefit to society: Industries that have large water consumption and discharge like Food/Beverage, Power, and machine manufacturing and chemical industries can treat industry effluents from water and recycle it for further use. This technology can further be adapted to treat urban as well as individual domestic wastewater treatment for communities and townships.

Benefit to society: 3D printing technology is widely used in Medical sciences, aerospace and aviation industries for manufacturing precision components and implants.

Benefit to society: This project addresses the need of the transportation industry to reduce pollution and emission of green-house gasses that has resulted in health hazards and global warming.

Benefit to society: Electric cars are 100 percent eco-friendly, do not emit toxic gases or smoke into the environment and run without any noise pollution.

Benefit to society: The lake cleaning machine is a suitable solution to clean the lakes using human- effort in an efficient and eco-friendly manner.

Benefit to society: ATVs are designed for off-road use; to handle a wider variety of terrain than most other vehicles. ATV can be employed as miniature tractor in cultivating fields and planting crops or a garden by attachments of a chisel plow or disc plow to the rear of the machine.

Benefit to society: Motorsport cars like formula 1 have been a key driver of technological development in automotive sector. For instance when the pioneering female racer, Dorothy Levitt Dorothy used a mirror to see what was behind her, the idea of permanently affixing a mirror was adopted by the industry. Similarly, Fuel injection, All-wheel drive, Dual-clutch transmissions are examples of innovations that were adapted by industry and disseminated to the society.
