Department of Computer Science Engineering had organized a one day workshop on “EXPLORING IoT USING RaspBerry Pi” at GITS today on 16th Sept, 2016.The workshop is taken by Mr. Preark Mody, a data scientist working in Leaf Technologies Mumbai.
New Internet of Things (IoT) applications that leverage ubiquitous connectivity, big data and analytics are enabling Smart City initiatives all over the world. These new applications introduce tremendous new capabilities such as the ability to remotely monitor, manage and control devices, and to create new insights and actionable information from massive streams of real-time data.The Raspberry Pi is a series of credit card sized single-board computers developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to promote the teaching of basic computer science in schools and developing countries.
Mr. Prerak demonstrated the working of Raspberry Pi to participating students of B.Tech II Year and III computer science.Around 90 students are participating in the workshop.Dr. Raghuveer ,HOD CSE welcomed and addressed students about the importance of IoT in smart cities.
