Department of Electrical Engineering and MCA has organized an International Seminar on “Communication Complexity” on Monday, 2nd July, 2018.
Dr. Jain shared his International experience in the field of Communication Complexity with all the participants came from various institutes. Communication complexity studies the amount of communication required to solve a problem when the input to the problem is distributed among two or more parties. He talked about Quantum communication complexity, Nondeterministic communication complexity and their applications. More than 70 participants (Students as well Faculty Members) from various streams have registered and attended the event. Participants learnt a lot from the International resource person regarding communication complexity.
In this seminar, International Resource person was Dr. Rahul Jain who came from Singapore. Dr. Jain is an Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department of the National University of Singapore (NUS) from July 2013. He obtained his PhD from Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, India in 2003. He was a post doctoral researcher at the University of California at Berkeley, USA from 2004-2006 and at the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), University of Waterloo, Canada from 2006-2008. He obtained Bachelor’s degree (B-Tech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai (IIT-B), India in 1997. He is a Principle Investigator at the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), Singapore from Nov. 2008. He has several prize paper awards, IBM Distinguished Dissertation Award, 2005, TAA-Sasken Best Thesis Award, 2005-2006, and Young Researcher Award at National University of Singapore in 2012.
