Successful Organization of BIS Standard Poster Competition at GITS

A Standard Poster Making Competition was successfully organized at Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies (GITS) under the aegis of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). The competition was conducted under BIS Club No. SC-4881 with the able coordination of Dr. Vijendra Kumar Maurya. More than 32 students from various departments enthusiastically participated and creatively presented the importance of Standards and Quality.
On this occasion, GITS Director Dr. S. M. Prasanna Kumar appreciated the students and stated that such activities organized by the Bureau of Indian Standards not only enhance students’ creativity but also inspire them to become responsible consumers and aware citizens. He emphasized that awareness about certified products such as the ISI mark and Hallmark is a necessity in today’s times, and competitions like these strengthen the culture of quality in society.
Finance Controller Mr. B. L. Jagir, while praising the competition, said that the message conveyed by students through their posters on quality and standards is highly commendable. He added that along with academics, such awareness programs play a vital role in the overall development of students.
The results of the competition were as follows:
- First Prize – MBA students Rajveer and Dhruvi Paliwal
- Second Prize – EE students Bhanu Sahu and Radhakishan Rawat
- Third Prize – BCA students Shradha Saxena and Manasavi Vyas
- Fourth Prize – CSE students Vaidehi Tomar and Vaishali
Speakers at the event remarked that poster making is not merely an art, but an expression of ideas, emotions, and social responsibility. The posters created by the students conveyed the message that quality is the hallmark of trust, and adherence to standards lays the foundation of a strong and safe society.
The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity but also played a significant role in spreading the objectives of BIS to the wider public.
