The Electronics & Communications Engineering program unfolds passion for electronics. This is the oldest department of GITS. Once the students step in the department, they enjoy hands-on activities and hands-on learning, while working with electronics and technology. All today’s technological gadgets have electronics inside, be it Mobile, Washing Machine, Cars etc. For the innovative thinker, problem solver, explorer with an inquisitive mind, the electronics program is a journey to an exciting career.
The Department also offers two PG programmes, one in DC (Digital Communication) and the other in VLSI. The department has well qualified, experienced and highly motivated faculty members and well equipped laboratories to cater to the needs of both the UG and PG students.
With the launch of Digital India Program by Government of India, more than 25 Lakh Engineers, majorly from Electronics & Communication engineering, would be required in the coming 2-3 years. Wide range of job opportunities for ECE students throughout the world is already there. In fact in many public sector jobs in India, the students from ECE are highly recruited. The other advantage of this ECE branch is that students can easily drift from hardware field to software field. In the field of communication side, mainly in companies like BSNL, Nokia, and Motorola etc mainly students from ECE background are hired. ISRO also recruits students only from ECE and Mechanical.
